Farewell

Msgr. Mannion

and thank you for your nearly 30 years of service to the people of

St. John Parish.

As our Pastor, for your courageous leadership.

As a Priest, for the uncommon dignity with which you live your vocation.

As a Person, for your Christ-like humility and compassion.

As an Educator, for your unwavering support of Catholic education through St. John and Good Shepherd Catholic Schools. There are many people in the world doing not only great things but "small things with great love" because they had the opportunity to spend their formative years at St. John and/or Good Shepherd Catholic Schools. This is truly your legacy.

RCIA:
Becoming a Catholic

Have you or someone you know been considering becoming a Catholic? Do you have questions about what Catholics believe? Were you baptized as a child but never received formal religious education? Are you married to a Catholic and are you wondering whether you should join the Church yourself?
We invite you to an Information Night so you can talk more with members of our team about RCIA.

RCIA Information Nights:
Tuesday, August 17
OR
Tuesday, September 7
Both meetings begin at 7:00 PM at St. John Parish Center. Please call Pat Lipperini at 856-858-4737 for more information.

From the Social Justice Committee
The Social Justice Committee invites all parishioners to our next meeting to meet members of Camden Churches Organized for People (CCOP). The CCOP has been working to improve the lives of the people of Camden for many years. Come out and hear their stories and listen to their needs. It is an opportunity to begin building bridges with fellow Christians who share the Catholic Church's call for us to be responsible for each other as brothers and sisters in Christ. The meeting is on Monday, August 9 at 7:30 PM in McDaid Hall (Holy Saviour). For additional information call Mickey & Jim Steinitz 856-858-5484.

St. Vincent de Paul Society
Our goal is to meet the practical needs of those in our parish and the Collingswood community who are experiencing temporary hardship through sickness, loss of job or other unforeseen consequences. Thanks to your generosity we are able to provide small sums of emergency assistance towards unpaid bills, provide emergency food bags or assist with other needs as they are presented to us. We meet on the third Tuesday of each month, and we would love to have you get involved. Call856-858-1444.

Next Sandwich Making:  Monday, August 16 at 7:00 PM in the school cafeteria.
Next Regular Meeting:  Tuesday, August 17 at 7:00 PM in the parish center.

Where Jesus Makes the Difference
Good Shepherd School is the result of the merger of St. John Catholic School and Holy Savviour School. We are excited about continuing the faith traditions of both schools. Our challenging academic program produces students that excel in high school and beyond. Come and experience the difference a Catholic School education can make in your children's lives.
